Authorization to handle refrigerants: Only persons with the required expertise in accordance with EC Regulation No. 842/2006, Articles 3, 4 and 5(1) or Section 5 of the German Chemicals Climate Protection Ordinance (ChemKlimaschutzV) are authorized to handle refrigerants. By purchasing a refrigerant, you confirm that you are competent within the meaning of the aforementioned regulations (ChemKlimaschutzV & EC Regulation No. 842/2006) and thus authorize the use of the refrigerant by a competent person.
From January 1, 2015, according to the new F-Gas Regulation (EC) 517-2014, refrigeration and air conditioning companies must prove, either by submitting the personal certificates of their employees or the company certificate, that they are authorized to purchase refrigerants containing fluorinated greenhouse gases. Otherwise, no delivery of refrigerants may take place.
Traders are exempt from this obligation; they only need a declaration from the refrigerant supplier stating that the refrigerant is solely for resale. However, they are then obligated to obtain the corresponding certifications from their respective customers.
Manufacturers of refrigeration and air conditioning equipment are also exempt from the certification requirement. However, a corresponding declaration regarding their manufacturing activity is still necessary for obtaining refrigerant.

Note: The air conditioner may only be installed by a company certified in accordance with Regulation (EU) No. 517/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council of April 16, 2014, on fluorinated greenhouse gases. By purchasing a split air conditioner, you confirm that it has been professionally installed by certified specialists. Refrigerant leaks contribute to climate change. Refrigerants with a lower global warming potential (GWP) contribute less to global warming than those with a higher global warming potential (GWP). A leak of 1 kg of this refrigerant would therefore have a greater impact on global warming than 1 kg of CO2 over a hundred years, proportional to the GWP value of the refrigerant. Do not work on the refrigerant circuit or disassemble the unit – always consult qualified personnel.
