Authorization to handle refrigerants: Persons who possess the required expertise in accordance with EC Regulation No. 842/2006, Articles 3, 4, and 5 (1), or Section 5 of the Chemicals Climate Protection Ordinance (ChemKlimaschutzV), are authorized to handle refrigerants. By purchasing a refrigerant, you confirm that you are competent within the meaning of the aforementioned regulations (ChemKlimaschutzV & EC Regulation No. 842/2006) and thus that the refrigerant is being used by a competent person. As of January 1, 2015, according to the new F-Gas Regulation (EC) 517-2014, refrigeration and air conditioning specialists must provide proof of authorization to purchase refrigerants containing fluorinated greenhouse gases, either by presenting their employees' personal certificates or their company certificate. Otherwise, no refrigerant may be supplied. Retailers are exempt from this requirement; they only need to provide the refrigerant supplier with a declaration that the refrigerant is used only as a commercial product. However, they are still required to obtain the relevant certifications from their respective customers. Manufacturers of refrigeration and air conditioning equipment are also exempt from the requirement for certification. However, in these cases, a corresponding declaration regarding their activity as a manufacturer is required to purchase the refrigerant.
